What you need

Six ordinary dice, two or more players and a way to record scores. Agree on the scoring values before you start. This guide uses the PlayMonster rule set.

How a turn works

Roll all six dice and set aside at least one scoring die or combination. You can bank the turn subtotal or roll the remaining dice. If every die has scored, you may roll all six again.

When you farkle

A roll with no scoring dice ends the turn. Enter zero for that turn. Points already banked on earlier turns stay in your total.

Getting on the sheet

Your first banked turn must be worth at least 500 points in this rule set. Later banked turns can be smaller.

Finishing the game

When a player reaches 10,000 or more, every other player gets one final turn. Highest total wins. Agree a tie policy beforehand; our scorekeeper can show a shared win.
